Audrey went on a press trip to Portland this weekend and got to tour the Allagash Brewing Company. Needless to say I was super jealous. I love beer and Allagash makes some great ones. She brought home a 4-pack of Curieux, a Belgian Style Golden Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels.
Audrey said she tried it at the brewery and loved it. I was surprised, she’s normally a Coors Light drinker when she ventures into beer, an 11% Bourbon Barrel Aged beer at that.
I really enjoyed it. It’s smooth with a hint of bourbon. In all honesty, I’m not a huge fan of barrel aged beers but this one was great. It was just enough bourbon. Allagash puts out some solid beers, I’ll definitely grab this one again. Hopefully I get to go up and tour the brewery soon!
